Theil Index: Racial Diversity
Layer displays information about racial segregation using the Theil index. This index measures the “evenness” of all races across the county based on the racial composition of the population at the block group level.
Public Transit Stops and Stations
This layer displays the locations of transit stops and stations. Data was acquired from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is available for the 200+ metro areas.
Gross Employment Density
Layers display information about total employment density (jobs per acre) at the census block group level. For additional map layers displaying employment density by industry, browse the Map Room data and navigate to Economic>Labor Market>Employment>Jobs by Industry.
Pedestrian-Oriented Road Network Density
Layers display information about pedestrian-oriented road network densities at the census block group level. Data is from the 2013 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Smart Location Database (SLD).
Households with No Vehicle
Layers display information about household automobile ownership at the census block group level.
RE-Powering America Sites
Layer displays the locations of contaminated mines, landfills, and industrial sites evaluated by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for their renewable energy potential. Sample layer shows sites screened for wind-power only.
Brownfield Sites
Layer displays the locations of brownfield sites based on the September 2013 version of the EPA Assessment, Cleanup and Redevelopment Exchange System (ACRES) database.
IRS Tax Statistics
Layers display ZIP code and county-level information about tax returns filed in 2011, including the number and percentage of returns claiming Earned Income Tax Credits. Data is acquired through the Brookings Institute’s Earned Income Tax Credit Interactive.
Health Care Service Delivery Sites
Layers include the locations of community-based health centers as of October 2013.

Layers display county, state, and service area information about Medicare Reimbursements for select healthcare expenses in 2010.
